O Apple CarPlay has brought in its latest update an integration with ChargePoint, a network of electric vehicle charging stations. This means that drivers with the CarPlay system can now locate a refueling station directly on the dashboard without having to resort to using their smartphone.
ChargePoint operates more than 100 electric vehicle charging stations worldwide. The app is available today in Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Making the owner's life easier
In addition to the georeferencing system, drivers can use the app to check the gas station's occupancy status and view pricing information. It is also possible to filter refueling stations by cost, plug type and charging speed.

Another cool feature is that when a driver adds a station to their favorites, a waitlist will put them in line when the station is full. An alert will then be sent to the driver via Apple CarPlay when the station becomes available for the electric car.
The ChargePoint app is available for iOS 14 or higher. It is through the system of Apple that users can set up widgets that provide the location of the nearest gas stations. The driver also needs an infotainment system in the electric vehicle that is compatible with the Apple CarPlay. The application is available for Apple Watch.
ChargePoint hasn't come to Android Auto yet, but There is official information that this version is already on the way. Such as Apple, Google also recently announced plans to open an interface for electric vehicles.
