All about the best cell phones

Originally designed for games, the Discord is a rising app for professional use. But that doesn't mean it's perfect. The organization of responses still lags behind its competitors, such as WhatsApp.

Discord currently uses a feature called “quoting” that allows users to reference another message in a somewhat primitive way. A reply quoting another message simply copies and pastes the text into itself. This can be quite difficult to understand in long conversations.

To address this issue, Discord will be making available the inline replies feature (see below). The goal is to make it easier for users to follow and retrieve conversations on the platform. In a message recently posted on official twitter Discord has announced that the feature will begin rolling out (gradually) to all devices throughout this week.

Inline responses

Available for desktop and mobile users, the tool allows you to click on a message on your desktop or hold down on your phone to select the “Reply” option. This way, the original message appears right at the top of the reply, making it easier to follow the conversation.

Discord's new inline reply option will have many advantages, such as replies being able to be referenced back to the original author, being easily reverted to, and not being able to be edited to make it look like someone said something they didn't. It will also provide a guideline for future tool development based on the ability to endorse other messages.
