O YouTube Music YouTube Music has just launched five new filters to help users find the perfect playlist for their activities or moods. The filters in the activity bar are Workout, Focus, Relax, and On the Go. Additionally, the update to YouTube Music brings a My Mix category, right below History and Your Favorites. With each filter, you have four playlists based on your music preferences for the chosen activity, as well as suggestions.

According to YT blog: “Whether it’s to get you through the last five minutes of your workout or to help you wind down after a stressful day, music brings life to your everyday life. That’s why today we’re launching a set of new personalized playlists and a new way to navigate the YouTube Music homepage.”

The activity tabs have very specific playlists. In Workout, for example, you have rock options for running and rap for heavy training. And In Transit, you find electronic music playlists for taking the subway.

The update greatly expanded the playlist options generated by Google's algorithm. My Supermix (formerly Your Mix), for example, brings together songs you've already heard and liked, while the other mixes combine your songs with new ones you might like. YouTube Music promises to update the My Mix option frequently so as not to bore users.

As for the design of the app itself, the music carousel has gained more prominence. Another change is that when the user clicks on one of the activity filters, a background image appears that matches the chosen option.

The YouTube Music update is now available for Android and iOS.
