The popularization of Mini-LED displays is getting closer. LG Display is preparing to provide the Apple its Mini-LED screens in early 2021. Thus, the company will serve the new generation of models of the iPad Pro. Later, they should also be included in MacBooks and other iPads. With this, the company managed to break the monopoly of Samsung, which was the main supplier of displays for the iPhone. LG will now do the same with the iPad.
Rumors suggest that LG Display is expected to be the main supplier of mini LED display panels for an iPad Pro model. In fact, the iPad Pro could be the first of its kind. Apple to feature the screen technology as early as the end of 2020. The work will be collective, as Epistar and TSMT will be responsible for the production and assembly of the Mini-LED screens. LG Display will be responsible for adding its famous LCD panels to the devices.

Mini-LED displays, when compared to conventional backlit displays, offer a sophisticated image processor. At the same time, they provide image brightness control, as well as better contrast ratios, color reproduction and local dimming. Mini-LED displays are also cheaper to produce.

A Apple is expected to debut iPads with Mini-LED displays from LG Display in the first quarter of 2021.
