New feature in Google Messages: you can now schedule messages to be sent directly from the app.
For those who didn't connect the name to the person, the Messages is the SMS service, RCS (successor of SMS, with videos and images), and Android instant messaging. Not to be confused with Hangouts, just instant messaging, which it will likely replace.
The new feature is gradually being rolled out to some users, allowing them to determine the day and time each message will be sent. A real lifesaver for people who are super busy and end up getting lost in messages (and times). No more receiving SMS messages in the middle of the night!

Here's how it works: Google Messages will allow you to schedule messages in three predefined options: “Later at 18pm”, “Later at 21pm” and “Tomorrow at 8am”. If none of the options are interesting, you can also customize the day and time you want the message to be sent by clicking on the “Select day and time” option.

From there, simply click “Save” to complete the scheduling. A clock icon will appear next to all scheduled messages.
Also the functionality allows that by tapping on any of the scheduled messages you can update it, delete it or send it immediately.
Google Messages' new feature for scheduling messages has begun to be implemented through a server-side update. However, there is still no forecast for when the feature will be widely released to all users, and RCS implementation is slow in Brazil.
Other updates to Google Messages besides scheduling messages
This is not the only release of the Google on the platform. Last week, a new feature was launched that allows users to organize their inbox by categorizing messages.
In September, a feature was also implemented that allows OTP (one-time password) messages to be automatically deleted from the app's inbox after 24 hours.
