A new project from the crowdfunding platform and app Kickstarter allows a 3D printer to quickly and cheaply decorate cakes, appetizers and other types of food at home. To create the art, the user must download the “3D Slicer” program, which makes it easier to create designs, avoiding errors when printing.

With this, Digital Patisserie (the company that launched the new product) provides some recipes and settings. In addition, the person who buys the machine will receive a test mix of foods, so that they can get an idea of how the system works.
Some of the cake decorating designs include graphics, text, characters, and even photo prints. The ingredients that work are chocolate, meringue, vegetable puree, ketchup, guacamole, honey, or anything with a similar viscosity.
The brand also states that the parts are safe for food production. Therefore, the customer can buy the ready-to-use kit or even create the parts on another 3D printer.
