All about the best cell phones

At first only in the United States and almost parallel to the launch of the TCL 10 5G UW, the Chinese manufacturer has launched the TCL TAB Family Edition on the United States market.

Just like the smartphone, the new Chinese tablet's main attraction is its price, which is quite competitive compared to its main competitors in the category. Offered by Verizon, the TCL TAB Family Edition hits US stores for US$199,99 (R$1.141,16).

TCL TAB Family Edition Settings

The device has practically the same hardware specifications as the TCL TAB 8, which was launched in early October. As for the TAB, although it does not offer cutting-edge technologies to compete with the iPad, it remains an option for a wide range of users. It has an 8-inch Full HD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, expandable via MicroSD card. As for the battery, it is 5550 mAh, and promises a charging autonomy of up to 17 hours for the user, in addition to offering the option of reverse charging, which allows you to use one device to charge another. For this function, however, it is necessary to buy the OTG cable separately.

Operational system

The TCL TAB Family Edition runs on Android 10, but will receive the Operating System update to Android 11. In addition, the manufacturer guarantees that the device will receive quarterly security updates for at least two years.

Other accessories

The TCL TAB Family Edition does not offer a factory OTG cable, but it comes equipped with an 8MP front camera and LED flash, as well as another 5MP camera for selfies and video calls. It also comes with 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, Wi-Fi, USB Type-C connection and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Users who purchase the device in the United States will also be entitled to Smart Family Basic, offered by Verizon, for three months, as well as free access for one year to two highly regarded apps in the Google store: Toca Life World and Sago Mini World.
