Xiaomi has yet to officially launch the Mi TV Stick, its new Android TV dongle, but a leakage on Gearbest showed that it will have 4K resolution. Today, a page from Aliexpress revealed that it will also have a version with Full HD resolution, which will certainly cost much less.
Additionally, the model will not have 2 GB of RAM with the 4K version, but only 1 GB. The 8 GB of capacity will also increase to 2 GB, and the USB-C connector will be replaced by a microUSB. Otherwise, the two Mi TV Sticks appear to be exactly the same, and the 1080p version of the Mi TV Stick also features Dolby and DTS surround sound.
The remote has dedicated buttons for Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. It also has a button to activate Google Assistant.
With two Android TV dongle models in different price ranges hitting the market, Xiaomi can compete on better terms against its competitors, both the cheaper and more expensive ones.
Xiaomi's HDMI dongle is reportedly priced at $50 for the Full HD version. The 4K version was speculated to be priced at $80, but it's possible it could cost more than that.
