Nubia has launched the Red Magic 5G Lite in Spain, a mid-range device that could be a good option for those looking for a gaming smartphone with a screen with a good refresh rate and a long-lasting battery.
More like the Nubia Play than the Red Magic 5G
Despite the name, it is a reduced-spec version of the Nubia play, and not of Red magic 5g. The design is practically the same, with some differences in the colors and the look of the large X on the back.
In terms of hardware, the big difference is that the Red Magic 5G Lite has a screen with a lower refresh rate, 120Hz, justifying the Lite name. Both the Nubia Play and the Red Magic 5G have 144Hz screens. Otherwise, the smartphone is practically the same as the Nubia Play, including the same Snapdragon 765G processor.
The Nubia Play is a more affordable version of the Red Magic 5G gaming smartphone, but it makes sense to launch it in other markets under the name Red Magic 5G Lite, and thus take advantage of the hype surrounding the model that has better specifications, but also costs much more.
120Hz refresh rate screen
The 6,65-inch screen is the same as the Nubia Play, with Full HD+ resolution (2340 x 1080 pixels) with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The front camera is in a circular cutout and is 8 megapixels, while the Nubia Play's was 12 megapixels.
The camera is a quad camera, with a 48-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. Completing the set is a macro camera and a depth sensor, both of two megapixels.
The smartphone can be called a gamer for two reasons. The first is the physical buttons on the sides, which can be programmed to be used in games. In addition, it also has a Nubia Ice 2.5 liquid cooling system.
The smartphone is 9,1mm thick and weighs 215 grams.
The device is being sold in Spain by the operator Vodafone, with a price of 612 Euros or around R$ 3670, which are divided into a monthly plan. Initially, it arrives on the European market in a single version with 8 GB of RAM (LPDDR4X) and 256 GB of capacity (UFS 2.1).
