As expected, Honor today launched its new Honor Play 4 and Play 4 Pro smartphones in China, which feature interesting specifications and very affordable prices. Both smartphones feature liquid cooling with a vapor chamber.
Honor Play 4 Pro
Let's start with the Honor 4 Play Pro, which has a Kirin 990 processor with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of capacity. The 4200 mAh battery has 40-watt fast charging.
The rear camera is dual, with a 40-megapixel main camera with F/1.8 aperture and a Sony IMX600 sensor with RYYB filter. The other camera is an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with F/2.4 aperture that has laser autofocus, optical image stabilization, and 3x optical zoom. This camera also has 5x hybrid zoom and 30x digital zoom.
It also has a thermometer built-in infrared that can measure the temperature of people, animals and even objects.
Honor Play 4
The Play 4 has MediaTek's Dimensity 800 processor, also with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of capacity, with one detail, this smartphone has a microSD card slot, unlike the 4 Pro. The battery is a little bigger, 4300 mAh, but the charging is 22,5 watts.
Its LCD screen is larger than the Pro model, at 6,81 inches, but it has the same resolution and therefore a lower pixel density. The front camera is simple, with 16 megapixels, and is located in a circular cutout.
This smartphone has a quad camera, and it shows in practice that the number of cameras in itself doesn't mean much. The main camera is 64 megapixels, but it also has an 8 megapixel ultra-wide, a macro and a depth sensor, both of which are 2 megapixels.
Pricing
The Play 4 and Play 4 Pro will initially be available in black and blue, but are expected to come in a white color soon. The blue version of the Pro model has a special design, the blue mecha.
The Play 4 Pro costs 2900 Yuan, or about $2059, while the Play 4 costs 2000 Yuan, or about $1420.
