Google's new Android TV dongle

Google is soon to launch an Android TV dongle with a remote control, and the first images of the device have leaked today. Known by the codename Sabrina, the new dongle could be launched under the Google Nest branding, although this has not yet been confirmed by Google.

XDA Developers has seen a promotional video for the dongle, which shows what its interface could look like, as well as what its remote control will look like. The controller resembles the controller for the old Google Daydream VR headset, with a larger circular button and six buttons just below it.

The buttons would have the functions of going back, activating the assistant, going to the home screen, accessing favorites, playing and pausing, and muting the volume. In addition, the control should also have a microphone for voice commands.

One of the images shows the possibility of displaying alerts and streaming from the doorbell camera with a Google Nest doorbell or other compatible camera. This feature is already possible on screens with Google Assistant, but it makes perfect sense to integrate the functionality with the Android TV dongle.

According to reports, the Android TV dongle will feature Dolby Vision. The site also says it will have an Armlogic processor, but does not specify which one.

In addition to the traditional black and white color options, the Sabrina dongle is expected to come in a new pastel pink color. Google's new Android TV dongle is expected to be priced at around $80, the same price that is being speculated for the My TV Stick from Xiaomi.
