Zenfone 7 and ROG Phone III will be the replacements for the Zenfone 6 and ROG Phone II

The Taiwanese newspaper Commercial Times, which specializes in the financial market, said Asus is set to launch its new Zenfone 7 and ROG Phone 3 smartphones between June and July this year. Since the ROG Phone II was launched in July last year, this makes perfect sense.

The prediction was made in a post about the effects of the pandemic on Asus' financial results in the first quarter. The company's co-CEO, Samson Hu (also known as Shubin Hu), spoke about the impact of the new coronavirus pandemic on the mobile market, but was optimistic for the second half of the year. According to the executive, Asus expects sales growth of its gaming smartphone of 30 to 50%.

The existence of the Zenfone 7 and ROG Phone 3 was confirmed by Qualcomm in a post made in February, in which they list the 5G smartphones that will feature the Snapdragon 865. For now, nothing is known about the Zenfone 7, other than that it will be equipped with Qualcomm's processor.

Meanwhile, the ROG Phone 3 has already had other details practically confirmed. The other day, the smartphone was seen on Geekbench, which confirmed that it will have the Snapdragon 865 processor and 8GB of RAM. It has also been certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance, which showed that it will have Wi-Fi 6 connectivity.

The ROG Phone 3 is also expected to launch with the Google Stadia pre-installed. This is a direct result of a partnership between Asus' Republic of Gamers brand and Google. The deal will see ROG smartphones launched through 2021 feature the Google Stadia app in select countries.
