Even before the Dimensity 1000 processor was launched in a smartphone, MediaTek introduced the Dimensity 1000+, which has several improvements over the first. The goal was to better serve future gaming smartphones that will be equipped with it.
The first new feature is that the new processor supports displays with a 144Hz refresh rate at Full HD+ resolution with an aspect ratio of up to 21:9. Just to remind you, the previous model only worked with displays up to 120Hz (at the same resolution). The Dimensity 1000+ will also support 90Hz displays at QHD+ resolution.
It also has a carrier aggregator function, support for two 5G SIM cards, and 5G UltraSave technology, which promises to save battery when using 5G. The other new feature is the Mira Engine technology, which converts videos from SDR to HDR10+ among other image improvements.
First smartphone will be from iQOO
The first smartphone to feature the Dimensity 1000+ processor will be from iQOO, but we still don't know any details about it, other than that it will certainly take advantage of the new processor's features, and thus, it should have a 144Hz screen and 5G connectivity.
5G UltraSave and 5G connectivity improvements
Let's start with improvements in 5G connectivity. The chipset can connect to two sub-5GHz 6G links with downloads of up to 4.7Gbps using 5G Carrier Aggregation.
5G UltraSave works in two ways. First, the modem automatically adjusts the bandwidth according to the needs of each application. When the data request is low, it adjusts connectivity to a mode that uses less network, reducing energy consumption. When the request is higher, it switches to full mode.
The other mode keeps the smartphone's modem connected even when there is no activity or data request being made. It can also switch between 4G and 5G networks or use them at the same time.
MiraVision converts SDR video to HDR10+
The technology Miravision has several features for images. AI-PQ automatically adjusts contrast, color, sharpness. It also adjusts the color level in 4K videos.
MiraVision can convert HDR10 videos to HDR10+ in real time. It can also convert SDR videos to HDR to improve contrast.
SmartScreen identifies the ambient lighting and what is being displayed on the screen to provide a good experience and save battery. The processor also reduces the brightness of the screen in dark or low-light environments to make using the smartphone more comfortable for the user.
In bright environments, MiraVision also has a feature to identify the brightness of the environment and try to use the same brightness to improve comfort.

HyperEngine 2.0, the soul of the processor
A Hyper Engine 2.0 optimizes everything that is happening in the processor to offer the best performance with minimum battery consumption.
It controls and optimizes the smartphone, controlling the processor, memory, GPU and all connectivity. This way, the processor can achieve the best possible performance in whatever is being run.
With the new HyperEngine, the connection with other gaming devices and peripherals is also more stable and with lower latency, with a specific function to transmit on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi at the same time to avoid “congestion”.
The Rapid Response Engine enables direct connection to the display with a minimum touch sampling rate of 240Hz. The Networking Engine can also connect to two Wi-Fi networks to reduce latency. It also maintains the data connection when a call is received.
Conclusion
Recently, MediaTek was accused of cheat benchmarks, and despite having defended herself with conviction, it is then quite understandable that she wants to appear in the media for other (and better) reasons.
The Dimensity 1000+, however, is more than just a marketing gimmick that leaves the expected Dimensity 1000 in the background. Despite this, and depending on the price difference between the two, it will also have its role to play in the market.
Like the Dimensity 1000, the 1000+ is a processor made on the 7nm process and has four Cortex-A77 cores clocked at 2.6GHz and four A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz. Its GPU is also the same, a Mali-G77 MP9.
Likewise, it supports quad-channel LPDDR4X memory. Its improvements and new features, however, put it in another category. Let's wait for the iQOO smartphone to see everything that the Dimensity 1000+ is capable of delivering in practice.
