Xiaomi today unveiled the Redmi Note 9 and Redmi Note 9 Pro at an online event. Despite the name, the Redmi Note 9 Pro is actually the global version of the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max that was unveiled in India alongside the original Note 9 Pro. Despite this true confusion of names created by the company on purpose, let's take a look at the smartphones.
Redmi Note 9
Let's start with the Redmi Note 9. As expected, it has the new Helio G85 processor and has versions with 3 or 4 GB of RAM and with 64 and 128 GB of capacity. In addition, its battery is 5020 mAh, with 18-watt fast charging.
The Note 9 has a 6,53-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD+ resolution (2340 x 1080 pixels) covered by Gorilla Glass 5. The 13-megapixel front-facing camera sits in a circular cutout. The fingerprint reader sits on the back, just below the camera.
The main camera is quadruple and has a Samsung GM1 sensor (the same as the Redmi Note 9S) of 48 megapixels with F / 1.79 aperture and an ultra-wide of 8 megapixels (F / 2.2 aperture). In addition, it has a macro camera and a depth sensor, both of 2 megapixels and F / 2.4 aperture.
The Note 9's price is perhaps its most interesting feature, at $199 for the 1079GB RAM and 3GB model. The 64GB RAM and 4GB version will cost $128. It will be available in three colors: green, white, and gray.
Redmi Note 9 Pro (Global Version)
Now let's talk about the global version of the Note 9 Pro, which is the same device that was called the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max in India. It has a Snapdragon 720G processor with 6GB of RAM and comes in 64 or 128GB versions. Its battery is also 5020mAh, but it has 30-watt fast charging.
The 6,67-inch IPS LCD screen has a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, but the fingerprint reader is located in the button on the side.
The camera is also quadruple, but the main sensor has 64 megapixels, and the macro has 5 megapixels.
The 64GB version will cost $269, while the 1459GB model will cost $128. The smartphone will also be available in white, gray and green.
