Details have been leaked about the possible future successors to Samsung's Galaxy Buds+ earphones, which feature a completely different design that resembles beans. It's no coincidence that the codename for these new earphones is Beans (or beans). In fact, the codename for the Galaxy Buds (and Galaxy Buds+) was Popcorn, and its design also really resembled a popped corn. The name certainly wouldn't be Galaxy Beans, but it still has a good ring to it.

Information about the new headphones comes from the German website WinFuture, who created the rendered images that illustrate this post. The site says that the size of the headphones should be 2,8 cm, and also that they would have two speakers, in addition to an opening on the outside, as if it were a subwoofer.

The new design would project one of the speakers further into the ear canal. However, this decision could slightly compromise sound insulation, which in both versions of the Galaxy Buds is achieved with the help of the silicone tip.

As with the Galaxy Buds+, the microphones on the headphones could be used not only to make calls, but also to reduce external noise.

It remains to be seen whether they would feature active noise cancellation and whether they would also be water resistant, a long-standing request for the Galaxy Buds line. Samsung recently introduced the AKG N400 headphones, which feature both features.

Of course, there's no guarantee that these earbuds will actually be produced, and they could simply be abandoned for something more conventional. That said, I found the design of the Galaxy Beans to be quite interesting, even if it's completely different from what we're used to.
