Xiaomi officially launched the new Redmi K30 Pro 5G and Redmi K30 Pro 5G Zoom smartphones in China today, which feature different specifications and prices to reach two different audiences. As the name suggests, the main difference between the two models is the quad cameras.
Specifications
Inside, the devices feature a Snapdragon 865 processor, as well as the Snapdragon X55 modem with 5G connectivity. The UFS 3.1 flash memory capacity is 128 to 256 GB, with 5 and 6 GB of LPDDR8 RAM. The exception is the entry-level Redmi K30 Pro model (6 GB and 128 GB), which has LPDDR4 memory and UFS 3.0 flash memory).
The battery of the new smartphones is 4700 mAh, with 33-watt fast charging.
Difference between cameras
The Redmi K30 Pro has a 64-megapixel main camera with a Sony sensor IMX 686 with f/1.69 aperture, 7P lens and optical image stabilization, alongside a 13-megapixel ultra-wide with a 123° angle. In addition, a 5-megapixel telephoto camera with autofocus macro lens, as well as a 2-megapixel depth sensor, complete the set.
The Zoom version has the same main camera, the same ultra-wide camera and the same depth sensor, but with an 8-megapixel telephoto camera that also has optical image stabilization. The 20-megapixel front camera is located in a pop-up and is activated when needed. According to information from Xiaomi, the mechanism takes 0,58 seconds to be activated, and has been tested to work up to 300 times. In addition, it has a gravity sensor that automatically retracts the camera if the device is falling.
Design and canvas
The devices feature a 6,67-inch AMOLED display that is the same for both versions. The screen occupies 92,7% of the front thanks to the mechanism that hides the front camera, and has an integrated fingerprint reader. The screen has a 1080p resolution, a maximum brightness of 1200 nits, but a refresh rate of 60Hz.
Xiaomi Group Vice President and Redmi Brand General Manager Lu Weibing stated that the decision to keep the screen refresh rate at 60Hz was made to increase battery life.
The thickness of the smartphones is 8,9 mm, with a weight of 218 grams.
Pricing and Availability
The Redmi K30 Pro will cost 2999 Yuan (R$ 2.157) for the version with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of capacity, 3399 Yuan (R$ 2.445) for the version with 8 GB and 128 GB, and 3699 Yuan (R$ 2.661) for the model with 8 GB and 256 GB.
The Redmi K30 Pro Zoom will cost 3799 Yuan (R$2.731) for the 128 GB version and 3999 Yuan (R$2.875) for the 256 GB version, both with 8 GB of RAM. The values in reais are based on today's exchange rate, March 24.
The devices come in gray, white, blue and purple, and will go on sale in China on March 27.
